Roommate/Voluntary Simplicity

When I decided to start practicing other aspects of voluntary simplicity, I decided to take a chance and allow someone to move in with me. It has not been really great. It is not what I consider to be a win-win situation. My life was a lot more simpler before my roommate. One of my mission statements was to not have roommates, because 1. I enjoy living by myself, 2. I am responsible for my pets and if they get out it's because it's my fault. 3. I can decorate the place how I want and to my liking.
Some people think it's strange that people live by themselves. Well, some of us are not as social as others. I am very organized and kinda of anal while at the same time being very bohemian in other aspects. I've always been neater than everyone else I have co-habitated with.
Kudos to voluntary simplicity practitioners who have had success with roommates. While I will continue to practice voluntary simplicity, the roommate thing is not for me. At least not now.
