Voluntary Simplicity
As some of you may know, I have recently taken action in practicing voluntary simplicity. This was really not difficult for me, as some of my lifestyle choices were already in action, I just didn't know the concept of "voluntary simplicity" to use as an umbrella for these practices. Anyway, I read a few articles online about how some people practicing voluntary simplicity have roommates. I wonder, does this lessen or increase my footprint on the earth?
It has been great so far, she's a fantastic person. It took a little bit of time, really only a few hours for me to go through some things to make room for her to either give to Goodwill, throw out or keep elsewhere in our apartment.
Yesterday, I gave a little side table to Goodwill and today I gave a pretty hefty box of things to Goodwill. I can not tell you how good I feel now. The only thing that was slightly hard was giving away Civilization IV, but I really need to spend my time on other things besides computer games and now that I've already, voluntarily, placed it out of my possession I feel good knowing, that at least one distraction will no longer bother me.
Take care,
Ian Q.
